Hello Eagles,
It was great to see everyone at the skating party Monday! Its always neat to watch year after year as new skaters turn into pros! We had an active week this past week with the skating party, picture day, and progress reports that came home! Speaking of progress reports, lets switch to this weeks folders!
You should find progress reports in your folders this week, as well as fliers for a Donation Drive and the spooktacular! I will also point out that the book fair and the 3rd grade field trip to Mt St Helens are coming up too! So lets dive into some of these events!
Donation Drive
You may have heard that North Carolina is having a particularly hard time recovering from hurricane Helene. The OPT is working with eocharleston.org to to help in anyway we can! For that reason, we will be collecting new or gently used blankets, jackets, and warm infant/toddler clothing! If you can help, please stop by the bin outside this week, or feel free to order from our Amazon Wishlist to have our representative for the collection!
Book Fair
The book fair starts on Monday and continues all week! We have a goal of 1,000 books sold! More details are available at the Scholastic page for our book fair! Classrooms will be visiting the fair during the during the school day, so you may hear about their favorite books. The fair will be open from 3 - 4:30PM all week, with extended hours on Wednesday until 6PM. You can also preview the fair by viewing the Digital Flier for the fair!
We also still need a few more volunteers to operate the cash registers, including during extended hours on Wednesday. If you are available, please consider volunteering for a 30 minute shift:
Halloween Spooktacular
October 25th, we will have our annual the Halloween Spooktacular! Our annual trunk or treat event in the parking lot followed by the fall dance in the gymnasium is fast approaching. We still have slots for candy and non-candy item donations, trunk decorations, and help in the gymnasium with setup, teardown and running the dance. If you will be available during that time, please sign up to help with the event below
