Hello Eagles,
Welcome to October! To keep things extra spooky, the Friday Folders were sent home on Thursday this week as teachers have professional development training on Friday. There are a lot of things happening in October such as school field trips, picture day, and a grand finale with the Halloween Spooktacular!
Those of you with students in grades 2 - 5 will find a flyer for the upcoming student council elections. The series of events kick off on Monday when applications are made available (Due Oct 20th), and culminate with election day on November 7th. There are a number of events in the middle, and you can review the full schedule on the flyer.
The next OPT social event is the Roller Skating party on Tuesday, October 17th! By request, we created a Facebook event to help you mange your schedule, so feel free to go head over and let us know you are going on Facebook!
The book fair is all next week! Mrs Holck puts a lot of work into getting this event just right, but she needs your help! We have a couple more cashier slots open on Thursday and Friday, and we need 2 more volunteers for the 4:30-5:30 pack-up and load out shift on Friday. If you are available to help, please sign up to volunteer!
A reminder that Fall Picture Day is Thursday October 12th! Uniforms are required, and you can use your Picture Day ID from last week's folder to order on mylifetouch.com.
Ski and Snowboard registration is open for students over the age of 7! We do not have a link we can distribute for this, but Darcy sent out an email detailing the registration process. Classes will take place beginning January 5th 2024, and last 6 weeks; you will have a choice of AM (10AM - noon) or PM (1PM-3PM) classes. Classes will count as an extended PE class, and students will be excused from normal class on these days. Please let the office know if you sign up so they can track attendance for those days.
Finally, do you have ideas to make the OPT better? We will have an upcoming general assembly where we hold elections. While we haven't set a date for the assembly yet, we want to hear your ideas for how to make the OPT work best for you. Please take a moment to voice you opinion on what you love or don't love about the OPT. What do you want to see on our site? Do we have too many events, or not enough? Let us know what you think, we are your OPT.
